Schools, colleges, universities, communities and individuals students have been encouraged by the support they have received from all IODE chapters throughout Ontario.
IODE Ontario Bursary, at Nipissing University was established in 1997 as part of a Building Trust Endowment Campaign at Nipissing University in North Bay. Our contribution of $5000 was matched by the Ontario Government. It is offered to a full time student in the third year of Bachelor of Arts, Sociology program.
IODE Ontario Lucy Morrison Memorial Fund receives memorial donations and contributions from IODE chapters. With this fund, we are able to award bursaries of $500 to $1000.
Our Special Awards funded by this provincial education fund include the following:
• One annual scholarship of $2,000 will be offered biennially in alternating years to Music Performance in 2011, 2013... and Ecology and/or Environmental Studies in 2012, 2014.... The one applicant per school is nominated by his or her college or university with a deadline of November.
• An annual bursary for $1,000 is presented to a student at Canada’s National Ballet School, Toronto.
• An annual award for $1,000 is presented to a student in his/her second year at Ontario College of Arts and Design, Toronto. Selection is made by the school.
